Grace for Grace

Every intelligent action begins with thought,
Christ by His Light our souls He has bought.

Light is power, which varies greatly by degree;
To frame the worlds, or the moving cause in me.

Truth is knowledge of things present, future, past
What starts with a hope can become perfect at last.

Faith is more than belief, it’s that hope put into action,
God’s gift of Light and Truth, but just a small fraction.

Grace is deeper than acquittal—in Truth God’s own Light;
Christ’s saving power gifted to us, the faithful and contrite

Grace grows as we’re faithful to Light and Truth already gifted,
In other words, truthful to our faith: grace by which we’re lifted.

Growing grace for grace; gifts of Light and Truth till fulness springs
Keeping commandments till glorified in truth and knowing all things.

Our faith expands as grace abounds—hope to faith into knowledge sure,
Raised up to the measure of the fulness of Christ as we faithfully endure.

Christ’s redeeming grace makes us fit for the glory we are willing to receive,
Only by His grace we are saved through our faith, as many hearts as believe.
